Home Visit
We would respectfully remind patients that at all times if they could make every effort to attend the Surgery in order to see the doctor. Home Visits should be strictly for the elderly and housebound and for people with a serious illness who are unable to attend for consultation at the Surgery.
Whenever possible please request a home visit before 10.00am so that we can plan our house calls. The receptionist will ask you some details to help the doctor assess the urgency of the visit so please be willing to provide these to the receptionist. If the matter is urgent please tell the receptionists and they will contact a doctor.
The doctor doing the visit will contact you to discuss the need for a visit and will encourage you to come to the surgery if at all possible or arrange a time for the visit. The doctor may also give telephone advice if a visit is not necessary. Please only request a home visit for genuine reasons, not for convenience or lack of transport. If you are in doubt as to whether a home visit is necessary you can always ask for a doctor telephone consultation.
