Postnatal Care
Midwives, maternity care assistants and health visitors all come to see you at home with your baby to offer you care and support as required.
Generally, your midwife will arrange visits until your baby is 10 days old, when the health visitor arranges her first visit.
This will be based on your own individual needs and the time can be extended if required. At 8 weeks after the birth, a post-natal consultation with your GP will be arranged for you and your baby.
Is your baby sleeping safely?
A video is available online which will ensure your baby is sleeping safely, and help prevent sudden deaths.
It has been produced by The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths, the UK's leading cot death and infant health charity to bring parents the best advice on safe sleep for their baby. Click here to see the video.
